Barnwell Industries Inc. has named Lloyd Arnason president and chief operating officer of Barnwell Canada, Ltd., Barnwell’s oil and gas subsidiary in Calgary, Alberta.

Arnason is an engineer with more than 30 years’ experience at large and small oil and gas companies in the region. “We welcome him to Barnwell and look forward to his help in running our largest subsidiary and continuing his distinguished career in the industry,” said Morton Kinzler, Barnwell chairman and CEO, in a statement.

Arnason succeeds Warren Steckley who has left the company “to pursue other interests,” Kinzler said. He had served Barnwell for some 15 years.

Honolulu-based, publicly traded Barnwell is involved in oil and natural gas exploration, land investment, residential real estate and drilling operations in the U.S. and Canada.
