Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in an alleged Puna robbery.
Police said at 7:49 a.m. Feb. 23, officers were called to the Hawaiian Acres subdivision where they found a 37-year-old Mountain View man inside his parked sport utility vehicle.
Medics from the Hawaii Fire Department also responded, but the man, who had with non-life-threatening injuries, declined treatment.
The man told police he had been at a Keaau bar and left shortly after midnight with four men.
The man does not recall the events after leaving the bar and told police that several items in his vehicle were missing.
Police would like to talk to the men who left with the man.
Police are also seeking witnesses to the alleged robbery or who had seen the victim’s gold 1998 Chevrolet Blazer being operated or stopped between Keaau and Hawaiian Acres.
