Boat runs aground on reef at Keehi Lagoon
A 52-foot sailboat ran aground on the reef fronting Keehi Lagoon near the entrance to Keehi Harbor about 10:22 a.m. yesterday, a fire official said.
Three people aboard swam ashore and were not injured, said Fire Capt. Earle Kealoha.
The Coast Guard said there did not appear to be an oil leak caused by the grounding.
