Boy, 12, held in alleged assault on Kailua teacher

Police arrested a 12-year-old boy at a Kailua public school for allegedly hitting a teacher.

The student allegedly struck a teacher in a classroom at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Police arrested the boy a half-hour later on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Police released the student 4:30 p.m. pending investigation.
