BEIJING >> China’s state broadcaster CCTV says at least 30 people have been killed in a fire aboard a tourist bus in the central province of Hunan.

CCTV says a total of 56 people were aboard the bus when it crashed into a barrier along a highway at around 10:20 a.m. Sunday.

The broadcaster says 21 of those aboard were sent to a hospital and the driver has been held for questioning. The cause of the crash remained unclear.

Calls to local police and fire departments rang unanswered.
