The U.S. Coast Guard says it rescued eight people from a burning ship off Honolulu.
The Coast Guard says all eight crewmembers are safe after they were rescued Friday from a burning commercial fishing vessel named Lady Anna.
The Lady Anna was about two miles south of Honolulu Harbor when the Coast Guard overheard radio transmission about the fire.
A Coast Guard patrol boat was nearby and its crewmembers arrived to find black smoke billowing from the engine room. Rescuers fought and extinguished the fire.
The Coast Guard will investigate the cause of the fire.
Will the Coast Guard turn the fishermen over to ICE/CPB to determine if they are legally in the country. Further, will the State of Hawaii, DLNR, Division of Aquatics determine if the fishing licenses of these recued fishermen were in order and not falsified or fraudulently obtained. Nope, not going to happen. I would bet that the only American on that vessel was the captain while the others are being detained on board by the slave traffickers. Glad they all made it.
Don’t worry. Their fishing licenses and Visas are in order. Further, you are correct in assuming the Captain is the only American on the vessel.
