Computer thieves strike again at UH

The University of Hawaii security reported several more incidents of burglaries Tuesday night at the Manoa campus’ Moore Hall — the scene of past computer thefts.

University security officials, in a campus alert, said at 11 p.m. a suspicious couple was seen outside of Moore Hall. 

A man also was seen running from the building, UH security reported.

Campus security tried to talk to a couple in a parked car on East-West Road, the report said. The vehicle fled on Dole Street with a man and woman in the car.

Campus security described the suspect running from the scene as a 6-foot-tall man in his late 20s with dirty blonde hair, weighing about 160 pounds and carrying a black laptop bag. The female was reported as 5 feet 2 inches, 120 pounds, with long straight blonde hair. The vehicle was described as a white Ford F-150.

Multiple rooms were discovered broken in to on the third floor of Moore Hall. Two computers were reported taken.

On Friday, seven offices on the fourth floor of Moore Hall were hit — two MacBooks and four Apple computers — were taken.

Last year, computers were stolen from offices right across the hall.
