A wildfire that 25 acres on Oahu’s west side was reported under control Tuesday.

Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Terry Seelig said Tuesday the fire along Lualualei Homestead Road in Waianae on fallow land bordering agricultural lots started at about 2:20 p.m. and it was brought under control at 5:45 p.m.

The blaze burned about 25 acres.

No structures were damaged, but Seelig said the flames reached a basil farm and some crops may have been damaged.

Firefighters recommended a stable evacuate its horses, Seelig said.

The fire was not reported near any homes, he said.

About 60 Honolulu firefighters, four water tankers and a helicopter responded.

The Federal Fire Department assisted with a tanker and a brush truck.

Seelig said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
