The  Department of Land and Natural Resources this week launched a new freshwater fishing license website.

The online resource allows Hawaii residents and non-residents to purchase a license required to fish in the state’s freshwater streams and waters from a computer or mobile device.

Visit https://freshwater.ehawaii.gov/ to purchase a Hawaii freshwater fishing license. Upon successful purchase, licensees will receive a copy of their fishing license and any other required permits by email.

The state requires freshwater fishing license for largemouth black bass, smallmouth black bass, blue-gill sunfish, channel catfish, tucunare, and oscar in caught in freshwater streams and other state waters as well as rainbow trout in Kauai’s Kokee public fishing area.

In addition, a special fishing area permit is required to enter the Wahiawa Public Fishing Area, which includes the Wahiawa reservoir, which can be obtained on the DLNR website.

The online freshwater fishing game license solution is created in partnership with Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC, the official Internet portal manager of eHawaii.gov.
