PHILADELPHIA » A threatening letter has been sent to Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s sister, who’s a judge in Philadelphia.

The letter was sent to Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, who sits on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.

The FBI said today it’s “aware of the incident and is working closely with the United States Secret Service and U.S. Marshals Service.” It says no further details are available.

Law enforcement officials said Friday that Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump received a threatening letter urging the candidate to exit the presidential race. Eric Trump has been campaigning for his New York real estate mogul father, who’s been criticized for comments about women and immigrants including saying some Mexicans in the U.S. illegally are “rapists.”

Donald Trump’s representatives haven’t responded to a request for comment.

Let me guess, it wasn’t Albert Einstein that mailed the letter.

    • Jonathan_Patrick says:

At the speed of light, through Warp Space, yes it was Albert Einstein. How did u know? Unfortunately Einstein is dead, so we can’t pin the blame on anyone, which we like to do in the good old USA with our zillions of lawyers out there.

  2. Jonathan_Patrick says:

Reminds us of the mud-slinging that was thrown at Cec Heftel, in his democratic primary with eventual Gubernatorial winner John Waihee in 1986. Donald Trump is just inciting too many passions by his excessive jabs at certain people. Mr. Trump needs to know that the USA is here for all people, and of course if some are illegal immigrants, then we need to take control of that, however to indiscriminately talk down to certain people will get him into trouble with most of America and lead to an eventual Clinton Administration.

    some people are getting desperate.

  4. BlueDolphin53 says:

What goes around comes around. I’m a conservative, but Trump scares the heck out of me. I think there is a real possibility he may be mentally unstable.

  5. Bothrops says:

Big publicity over relatively little. Lots of people get such letters from time to time. Count on the Trumps to make a big deal of it.

    • thos says:

And how would YOU respond if YOUR family members were put at mortal risk, eh?

Easy to be a tough guy when you think you have no skin in the game.

      • TigerEye says:

You don’t even know who sent these letters, thos. It could have been a Trump supporter fanning flames for all you know — something I wouldn’t put past the more rabid supporters of either camp.

And, I’m sure that if Bothrops was a controversial figure running for the highest office in the world he would have to expect some fringe behavior spilling over onto the people close to him.

As for anonymous posters talking tough? Well, you’re a fine one to take umbrage at that.

By the way, a piece of paper cannot put someone in “mortal” risk — unless maybe it’s coated with something.

      Imbecile! These are federal offenses.

  6. justmyview371 says:

The liberals are for peace. What a joke!

  7. Winston says:

More peace and love from the American left. Riots to shut down Trump’s right to free speech, threats to a candidates children. What’s next?

    • DeltaDag says:

I don’t pretend to know what comes next, but the fate of Bobby Kennedy and George Wallace illustrates what comes last.

    • klastri says:

I see. Before the federal authorities discovered anything, YOU have already figured out exactly who sent these letters and what political affiliation they have! You are one amazing detective! “I love the poorly educated!” Go Trump!

      • TigerEye says:

That begs the question: “well, who else would do something like that?” And, the answer to that would be, well, laughter…. followed by a long list of no particular leaning. He’s turning into an equal opportunity hatee.
