Early morning traffic stop leads to car theft, drug allegations

A routine traffic stop in Waikiki early this morning led to the arrest of a 24-year-old Kapolei man on car theft and drug violations.

According to police, the suspect was pulled over for a traffic violation around 4:30 a.m. 

Upon further investigation, officers found out that the vehicle had been reported stolen and that the suspect was in possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, third-degree possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.
