  • The Riverside Sheriff's Department released this mugshot of Daniel Kelly.

Former University of Hawaii football kicker Daniel Ryan Kelly, known as “The Iceman,” has pleaded not guilty to charges that he sexually solicited a girl who is a minor.

Kelly, 26, of Temecula, Calif. was in Riverside Superior Court on Wednesday to answer to the charges of felony soliciting a minor for sex and misdemeanor annoying or molesting a child.

Kelly was taken into custody on Monday, after police learned of an alleged relationship between a 16-year-old girl and him, police said.

His preliminary hearing was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 13.

His bail was set at $25,000.

According to Murrieta police, Kelly is the junior varsity girls soccer coach at Murrieta Valley High School.

He was serving as a walk-on coach but was not a Murrieta Valley Unified District school teacher.

Murrieta police said it learned of an ongoing relationship between Kelly and a 16-year-old female student athlete and after an investigation, he was arrested and booked at a detention center on the charges.

The investigation is ongoing to determine if there are any additional victims, police said.
