Flames can be seen coming from the closed Coco Palms resort on Kauai Friday.

The fire that broke out at Kauai’s iconic Coco Palms resort on July 4 is fully extinguished, Kauai Fire Chief Robert Westerman said Sunday.

The fire was completely out at 11:30 a.m.

The main lobby and adjoining offices of the resort are completely destroyed and the breezeway of a connecting building was badly burned, Westerman said.

An estimate of the damages has not been determined yet.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
