Honolulu firefighters rescued a downed paraglider Sunday evening near Dillingham Airfield.

Honolulu Fire Department spokesperson David Jenkins said a 34-year-old man used his cell phone to call for help around 4:30 p.m. after his paraglider crashed about 100 yards down from where he had launched it near the top of Kealia Trail.

Jenkins said HFD personnel responded to the scene and transported the man via the department’s rescue helicopter to paramedics waiting below.
