Veteran deputy city prosecutor Franklin Don Pacarro Jr. has been named the administrator of the Honolulu Liquor Commission 

He replaces Greg I. Nishioka, who resigned in March 2013 after the state Disciplinary Board of the Hawaii Supreme Court said he admitted to commingling and misappropriating client funds.

Pacarro served as deputy prosecuting attorney from 1986 to 2010.

Pacarro graduated from St. Louis High School, the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law. He also taught a paralegal course for the Center of Legal Studies, Chaminade University of Honolulu, from 2000 to 2002.

The Honolulu Liquor Commission regulates and enforces state and county laws regarding the manufacture, importation, sale and consumption of intoxicating liquors in Honolulu.
