Police have charged a 41-year-old Hawaii Kai woman with forgery after she attempted to cash a counterfeit check at a bank in Kalihi on Friday.

According to police, Kimberly Buckman attempted to cash a check belonging to an 84-year-old woman at the First Hawaiian Bank on North King Street.

Buckman was charged on Saturday with second-degree forgery, second-degree attempted theft and unauthorized possession of confidential personal information. Her bail was set at $11,000.
