“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” the second film in the popular franchise, will be screened to live orchestral accompaniment in April. “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” the second film in the popular franchise, will be screened to live orchestral accompaniment in April at the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall.
The two screenings, at 7:30 p.m. on April 6 and and 2 p.m. April 7, will feature the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra performing John Williams’ Grammy-nominated score as the film plays on a 40-foot high-definition screen. John Jesensky, a conductor and film score composer, will lead the orchestra. The concert is part of a global tour of the films that brought “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” to Hawaii in January 2017, which proved popular with music lovers and movie fans.
In “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) begins his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and faces a monster that turns people into stone, requiring Harry and his pals Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) to use all their magical abilities to fight it off.
