A fire helicopter airlifted a Japanese woman from the top of Diamond Head Crater today after she couldn’t hike back down, a Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said.

The woman was feeling light-headed about 10:30 a.m., fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.

A fire helicopter that was helping fight a wild fire in Waialua flew to Diamond Head, picked up the woman, and delivered her to paramedics waiting on the ground.
