A Hilo man apparently drowned in waters off Suisan Pier at the mouth of Wailoa River in Hilo late last night.
Hawaii County firefighters found the man, 70, floating in four feet of water about 10:27 p.m.
Police said witnesses believed the man was heavily intoxicated when he fell into the water. There were no indications of foul play.
