Medical examiners have identified the pedestrian killed as she was walking along Kalanianole Highway in Waimanalo early Thursday morning as Cecelia Paul.

Paul, 35, was homeless.

Police said she was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Kalanianaole near the Waimanalo Jack In The Box and Poalima Street about 1:05 a.m. She was not in a marked crosswalk.

Paul was taken in critical condition to the Queen’s Medical Center where she died. Speed and alcohol were not factors, police said.

Her death was the third of 2013, and the third involving a pedestrian.
