Big Island prosecutors charged a 20-year-old Honokaa man who allegedly stole dirt bikes and broke into and stole cars during a two-month period in Kona.
Police initially arrested Rickie Andaya-Tabucbuc Tuesday on suspicion of abuse of a family member.
Police found that Andaya-Tabucbuc and a juvenile suspect were allegedly responsible for stealing four dirt bikes and breaking into cars from April 28 to June 23.
Andaya-Tabucbuc was charged with abuse of a family member, two counts of second-degree theft, four counts of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and one count of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
His bail was set at $15,000.
Police are continuing to investigate the juvenile suspect’s role in the crimes.
