House fire displaces at least 10 in Kailua-Kona

Fire destroyed a two-story residence in Kailua-Kona on Saturday.

The Kealapua Street blaze was first reported at 11:20 a.m. Arriving firefighters found the structure fully engulfed in flames.

Two adults and three children at home at the time of the blaze were able to escape without injury.

Several vehicles were also destroyed.

At least 10 people are believed to have lived at the residence and are receiving assistance with shelter and other needs from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. Damage estimates ae not yet available.
