Island Air Chief Executive Officer Paul Casey is being replaced by David Pflieger, who is leaving his position as president and CEO of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.-based Silver Airways.
At Silver Airways, Pflieger oversaw the successful launch of the airline as an independent regional carrier, operating a fleet of 33 aircraft flying 170 daily flights to 38 destinations within the U.S. and to the Bahamas. Pflieger will take over on Oct. 1.
Casey, who took over the reins of Island Air on May 1, 2013, previously served as CEO of Hawaiian Airlines and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau. Casey will assume an advisory position on the Island Air board.
