Kailua man charged with assaulting woman
Authorities charged a 53-year-old Kailua man Thursday for alleging assaulting and imprisoning a 27-year-old woman Tuesday morning.
Michael Romero was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Bail was set at $3,000.
Romero allegedly struck and choked the woman at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said the two were formerly in a relationship.
