Kaimuki woman arrested and released in hit-and-run accident

A 25-year-old Kaimuki woman was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian Tuesday in Waikiki.

The 29-year-old woman was hit by a car, which fled the scene, at 10:25 p.m. at Lewers Street and Kalakaua Avenue. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

The 25-year-old suspect was arrested at her home an hour later and arrested on suspicion of first-degree negligent injury, accidental bodily injury, drunken driving and resisting an order to stop.

The suspect was released Wednesday pending further investigation.
