Two men were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a flatbed truck Thursday afternoon on Kamehameha Highway in Hauula, according to reports from the Emergency Medical Services Division.

Kamehameha was shut down in both directions at its intersection of Puhuli Street, near Kaya Store, but was reopened about one-and-a-half hours later.

According to EMS, the 28-year-old driver of the pickup and the 26-year-old driver of the flatbed were taken to the hospital, both in serious condition.

The flatbed truck driver had to be extricated from the vehicle, EMS said.

Police said a vehicle went off the road into a ravine shortly before 1:40 p.m.
