Kamehameha Highway reopened in both directions near Dole Plantation

Four people, including a 12-year-old girl were injured in a head-on collision that closed Kamehameha Highway in both directions between the Dole Plantation and Paalaa Uka Pupukea Road Sunday night.

The accident happened at about 7 p.m. and the highway reopened by about 8:30 p.m.

A jeep and a sedan collided head-on, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

A 12-year-old girl, a passenger in the rear seat who was wearing a seat belt,and a 43-year-old man, who was not wearing a seat belt, were taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to the report.

A woman driving a vehicle and a 17-year-old boy were in stable condition. Both were wearing seat belts, EMS said.
