A Hawaii-based Marine from New Jersey has been killed in combat in Afghanistan.
The Pentagon said Thursday Cpl. Nicholas S. Ott of Manchester, N.J., died Wednesday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.
The 23-year-old was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division of the III (three) Marine Expeditionary.
