LIHUE, Hawaii >> The Kauai Bus is expanding its services to address overcrowding during peak hours.
Kauai County Transportation Executive Celia Mahikoa said in a statement Monday funding has been allocated for additional services in areas where ridership is at an all-time high.
The new routes will take passengers from Kaumakani to Lihue in the morning and afternoon, Lihue to Hanalei in the morning and Hanalei to Lihue in the morning and early evening.
The new routes will begin operating next Monday.
