Kauai man pleads guilty in girlfriend’s stabbing death

    Steven M. Wilson pled guilty to murder in the second degree in Fifth Circuit Court today.

Steven M. Wilson pleaded guilty on Tuesday to second-degree murder in the 2013 stabbing death of his 21-year-old girlfriend on Kauai. 

Wilson’s sentencing is set for Sept. 10.

Sometime between April 11 and April 26 when her body was found, Wilson repeatedly stabbed Kendra Elizabeth Lewisin the abdomen, chest, neck and back. 

Lewis’ body was found by her uncle at a two-bedroom condominium at Kawaihau Sports Villa in Kapaa. She was covered in a blanket on the floor of her bedroom. 

Wilson and Lewis dated for two years in Alaska and moved to Kauai in December 2012. According to a court document, Wilson “snapped” when he repeatedly stabbed Lewis with a hunting knife and then he attempted to kill himself. 

According to court documents, her uncle said a friend of the couple told him they argued when Lewis told Wilson she had gotten an abortion after getting pregnant by someone else.
