A 32-year-old Anahola woman was hospitalized after a pickup truck she was driving rolled down a ravine in Kealia early Thursday morning, Kauai police said.

The woman was driving north on Kuhio Highway near the entrance to the Kealia Kai community at about 3:15 a.m. when the truck crossed the center line, hit a light pole along the southbound shoulder and rolled about 50 feet down a ravine, police said.

Firefighters and medics freed the woman from the truck cab at about 5:30 a.m. and took her to Wilcox Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Kuhio Highway was closed in both directions for about two hours.
