Korean War veteran to be honored 60 years after his death

A Korean War veteran is being honored in Hawaii more than 60 years after he was killed in action.

Frank Capra Rocha will be honored at a ceremony today on the grounds of the Hawaii state Capitol.

He was killed in action on Aug. 10, 1951. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart. His name was engraved on the Hawaii Korean War Memorial on the Capitol grounds in March.

The Honolulu consul general of the Republic of Korea is among those who are expected to attend, along with members of Rocha’s family.
