The body of a 47-year-old man, with no local address, was pulled from the water at Kewalo Basin early Sunday. The man had disappeared sometime before 2 a.m.

Police said a 59-year-old woman had picked up the man at a bar and drove him to Kewalo Basin to use the bathroom. She told police she saw the man walk to the edge of the pier to relieve himself, glanced away briefly and the man was gone.

Firefighters recovered the man in the ocean, police said.

He was pronounced dead at 2:36 a.m.
