An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he was spotted driving a stolen truck and he assaulted a police officer in Kaneohe, police said.

An officer spotted the stolen truck this morning in Kaneohe, but the driver fled, police said. When officers located the truck again, the driver tried to flee and hit a parked car, assaulted an officer, and ran away, police said.

Officers located the man, of no local address, at a nearby home from which he had been banned.

Police booked the man for investigation of assault on an officer, criminal trespassing, criminal property damage, auto theft, and unauthorized entry into a dwelling.

He was also arrested for investigation of burglary in connection with a burglary in Kailua on Monday.

On Saturday, police arrested the man in Kaneohe for investigation of unauthorized entry into a vehicle.
