Man arrested for allegedly cashing checks stolen from woman

Police arrested a 59-year-old man Wednesday on suspicion of 22 counts of second-degree forgery, 21 counts of third-degree identity theft and one count each of second-degree theft and unauthorized possession of confidential and personal information.

Police said the suspect cashed a 65-year-old woman’s stolen and forged checks at a Wahiawa bank from Nov. 30 to Feb. 16.

Police said the victim discovered the checks and reported it to the bank.

The suspect was identified and arrested.
