Man charged with assaulting wife at homeless shelter in Waipahu

A 26-year-old man has been charged with assaulting his wife at a homeless shelter in Waipahu.

David Kasty, of no local address, was charged about 3:30 p.m. Friday with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $11,000.

Kasty injured a 33-year-old woman with a dangerous instrument about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He was arrested at the Lighthouse Outreach Center on Leokane Street.

Police received a call from the shelter Wednesday after Kasty stabbed his wife in the back and security officers were detaining him, according to police radio communications. He wasarrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

    • Will get 3 squares nice cell and entertainment on the taxpayers for awhile and will sign-up for furlough program near the end of his sentence. Will violate his furlough and will get additional time which will be taxpayers expense again. Wife will get emergency medical treatment and she too will have the taxpayer pick-up the tab. What’s with the Millennials, there was an earlier assault involving another young couple?
