Man charged with attempted murder in McKinley stabbing

Prosecutors Wednesday charged a 21-year-old downtown Honolulu man with second-degree attempted murder in the stabbing of a 43-year-old man at McKinley High School early Tuesday morning.

Axery Thomas was one of two men arrested about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a man who was in serious condition from multiple stab wounds, and taken to the hospital at 2:24 a.m. from the school.

Thomas was charged with second-degree attempted murder. His bail was set at $50,000.

The 20-year-old man, who has no local address and was arrested with Thomas, was released from police custody pending investigation.
