Man loses iPad, EBT card in Hilo robbery

Hawaii County police are looking for a man and woman who robbed a 20-year-old Hilo man of his iPad and electronic benefit card at 10 p.m. Thursday in Hilo.

The man told police he was sitting in a grassy area north of Manono Mini Mart when he was approached by a woman in her mid-20s and a man in his mid-30s.

The man told police the male suspect demanded his iPad and EBT card and threatened him.

The victim turned over the items to the man, who left with the woman in a sport utility vehicle.

The male suspect is described as having short, black hair, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, 145 pounds, wearing a dark jacket. The woman had long, blond hair and was wearing a white shirt and a blue jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call  961-2213 or the non-emergency police line at 935-3311.
