Police are investigating the stabbing this morning of a 20-year-old man in Wahiawa town.

Police said the victim sustained serious injury at 9:45 a.m. Saturday by another man, and have opened an attempted-murder case.

Some of the streets of Wahiawa were blocked off for the 10K Pineapple Run.

Police questioned employees at local businesses if they had seen anyone suspicious in the area.

Kymmie Huynh, part-owner of Nails Designs, at the corner of Olive Avenue and Kamehameha Highway, said, “I was here around 8:15 am, but I didn’t hear any noise or anything.”

An employee at Maui Mike’s Fire-Roasted Chicken said police arrived in the area at about noon and left about three hours later.

He said if it had happened next to their building, someone should have seen something because of the crowds from the fun run.
