Mayor-elect picks Doug Chin as Honolulu’s new managing director

Mayor-elect Peter Carlisle has filled the city’s No. 2 post, announcing former 1st deputy prosecutor Doug Chin as his managing director.

Carlisle made the announcement at the start of today’s regular City Council meeting.

Chin has been in the prosecutor’s office since 1998 and formerly worked at the law firm of Carlsmith Ball in Honolulu. He served as acting prosecutor when Carlisle resigned in July to run for mayor.
