The Medical Examiner’s Office today identified the victims of a murder-suicide that occurred on New Year’s Day in Kapolei.
The woman killed in the shooting was identified as Francisca Funtanilla, 56, who friends described as a popular “faith healer” who relieved others’ pains and ailments.
The 32-year-old man who allegedly shot Funtanilla was identified as Rugel Queja, of Waipahu.
Police said Funtanilla was shot by Queja who then shot himself at about 2:30 p.m.
Funtanilla died at the scene, and Queja died at the hospital with a single gunshot wound.
Police were investigating what prompted Queja to shoot Funtanilla.
Autopsies will be conducted to determine the cause of death of the two.
Funtanilla had four daughters.

Her daughters are about his age…. perhaps the mother-in-law disapproves of a mentally ill son-in-law. She has enough empathy and experience to know that and he resents her interference.
