A 48-year-old man found in the ocean off Waialua last week had drowned, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office said today.

The office identified the man as Llewellyn Spillner, who was homeless, and said the manner of his death was an accident. Police said Spillner was found unresponsive in the ocean and was brought to shore about 1:10 p.m. Thursday. Paramedics responded, but could not revive Spillner.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
