A 69-year-old Molokai woman died Thursday after a van rear-ended the motorized scooter she was riding in Kaunakakai, police said.

The Kaunakakai woman was traveling on Kamehameha V Highway near Kapaakea Loop at 2:22 p.m. when the collision occurred.

A preliminary investigation showed the van, driven by a 60-year-old Kaunakakai man, struck the back of the scooter, police said.
