A motorcyclist was medevaced to the Queen’s Medical Center Friday evening after sustaining serious injuries in a traffic crash with a pickup truck in Koloa, Kauai.
The 37-year-old man was driving the motorcycle north on Maluhia Road near Anne Knudsen Park at 4:54 p.m. when he crashed into a southbound pickup truck that was turning left onto Emi Road, Kauai police said.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Maluhia Road was closed for about three hours following the crash. Traffic was diverted to Ala Kinoiki and Koloa roads.
