Hawaii County police traffic have identified the motorcyclist who died Monday after his motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck on Route 11, south of mile-marker 109 in South Kona, as Dennis B. Huber, 45, of Captain Cook.

Fire Department rescue personnel took the motorcyclist to Kona Community Hospital, where he died at 7:56 p.m. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 35-year-old woman from Captain Cook, and her four-year-old son were not injured.

Police said speed and alcohol were factors in this crash.
