A lawsuit agains the city’s rail project halted construction in the Ewa fields for 13 months

Honolulu rail officials are warning drivers of traffic delays due to lane closures tonight through Friday morning on Kamehameha Highway, from Pearl City to Aloha Stadium.

The highway’s median lanes in both directions will be closed near Kuleana Road from 7:30 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Friday, according to a Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation release.

Lefthand turns from the westbound Kamehameha Highway into the Waiau Hawaiian Electric Co. plant will also be restricted, the release stated. The closures are for utility work.

Drivers should use alternate routes. Otherwise, they should drive with caution through that work zone, HART advises.
