Kauai County officials today issued statements to try to quell false rumors that Kauai faced a gasoline shortage because of a problem with a fuel barge.
There is no fuel barge problem or gasoline shortage, officials said.
Some residents reported that the rumor was widespread and that people were lining up for gas at some service stations.
