Nuuanu stabbing case reclassified to second-degree assault

A 42-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly by his girlfriend who used a knife that he used to threatened her, according to court documents.

Brandie Angel Bohol, 29, was initially arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend, George Williams Jr., during a argument in Nuuanu Friday night.

City prosecutors later reduced the charge to second-degree assault-a class c felony with a maximum jail term of five years – when she was charged on Monday.

Her preliminary hearing will be held in District Court Wednesday.  She remains in custody unable to post bail of $50,000.

According to a police affidavit the couple were arguing when Bohol allegedly stabbed Williams. She was arrested in front of her North School Street home near Liliuokalani Botonaical Garden.

Williams received an 8-inch cut in his chest and lacerations to his shoulder and left forearm.

He was treated at Kuakini Medical Center where he was taken after the 10 p.m. incident.
