A 29-year-old Pearl City woman was arrested Sunday when she allegedly tried to cash a forged business check at a Pearl Kai Shopping Center check cashing business.

Police said a clerk called the business that issued the check and found out that it was a forgery.

The suspect fled and was arrested just after 3 p.m. near the shopping center on suspicion of second-degree forgery and second-degree attempted theft.
