Police are investigating a shooting that happened in Kaneohe on New Year’s Eve.
The 32-year-old victim said he was confronted by five men in a pickup truck. He told police that he heard what he initially thought was a firecracker, then realized that he had been shot in the leg. Both he and the suspects then fled the scene.
Police did not specify where the incident occurred.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
Police said the victim was heavily intoxicated and that other details of the incident were unclear.
